Call for Nominations
The FNA Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for leadership positions for the 2025-2027 term. All positions on the FNA Board of Directors are open for nomination. Additional opportunities include service on the Nominating Committee and as Representative to the ANA Membership Assembly. Board members will be sworn in and begin their term at the 2025 FNA Membership Assembly in September.
Please Note: Per the FNA Bylaws, you must be a dues-paying member for at least 12 consecutive months prior to being nominated, to be eligible to run for office. The only exception to this is the Early Career Nurse Director.
FNA is seeking nominations for the following Board of Director positions:
- President-Elect: Acts as an assistant to the President and assumes the duties of the President in his/her absence, serves as a Representative to the ANA Membership Assembly.
- Vice President: Chairperson of the FNA Membership Committee and assumes the duties of the President in the absence of the President and President-Elect.
- Secretary: Records the minutes of the FNA Board of Directors (BOD), Executive Committee, and Advisory Committee meetings.
- Treasurer: Serves as Chair on the Finance Committee, reports to the BOD the financial standing of FNA, and makes a full report to FNA at each Membership Assembly
- Region Directors (8): Serve as liaisons between the FNA Board of Directors and the Regions. Assist in coordinating FNA regional events.
- Director of Early Career Nurses: Serves as the chair of the New Graduate Special Interest Groups. Assists in coordinating programs and events targeted towards recent nurse graduates. Must have graduated from pre-licensure program less than 5 years ago to be eligible.
We are also seeking nominations for the following leadership positions (not part of the Board of Directors):
- Nominating Committee (5): Oversees the election process and formulates the ballot in conformity with the FNA Bylaws. No region shall be entitled to more than one member to serve on this committee. No member shall serve concurrently on the Nominating Committee and on the BOD.
- Representative to ANA Membership Assembly (2): Serves as a delegate representing Florida at the annual ANA Membership Assembly
How to Nominate a Candidate
- Review the Election Manual for more details about the nomination process, position requirements, and bylaws pertaining to the election.
- Complete the Nomination / Consent-to-Serve Form
- Submit the Nomination Form along with a photo of the candidate to:

The deadline for nominations to appear in the initial slate of candidates to be published in May is April 30, 2025. Additional nominations will be accepted until June 30, 2025.

Nomination Form (Consent-to-Serve) - All nominees must complete a Consent-to-Serve form.

Campaign Literature Request Form (coming soon) - Candidates may request Campaign Messaging be sent via Email Blast to all FNA members. More information is in the Candidate Manual.
Voting Information
Voting will be conducted electronically from August 1–15, 2025. Voting instructions will be emailed to all members who have a valid email address on file. Members without an email address will receive voting materials by mail. All members in good standing as of July 1, 2025, are eligible to vote.

Nomination Deadline 1: Deadline to submit election nominations for them to appear in the Preliminary Ballot. |

Preliminary Ballot will be available online. The slate will be posted on the website along with a Consent-To-Serve form for additional nominations. |

Nomination Deadline 2: FINAL chance to submit additional nominations to appear on the official ballot. |

Election opens. Email sent to members notifying them that they can vote.Email contains instructions. A reminder email will be sent from Election America. Those members without email will receive printed instructions from Election America via postal mail mailed on this day. |
| August 15 |
Final day of voting. All ballots must be submitted by this day. |
| September 24-26 |
FNA Membership Assembly. Election results announced and new board members sworn in. Board meeting for newly elected Board members (initial orientation and immediate post-convention action). Subsequent meeting dates, including full orientation, will be set at this time. |
