Workplace Programs

Nursing and Healthcare Advocacy are the core functions of the Florida Nurses Association. The Association meets it goals by a variety of ways, including a rigorous legislative program. We also work collaboratively with other nursing and healthcare groups on issues of importance. The groups include: The Florida Board of Nursing,
Deans and Directors of Florida's nursing programs, the Florida Hospital Association, the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives, The Florida Center for Nurses and various nursing specialty organizations.

Each year, at our Biennial Convention, members bring forth issues of importance and the House of Delegates vote to adopt position statements that become the focus of the association's activities. This is one of the way individual members can make a difference in the future of nursing in Florida.

The newly established WorkPlace Advocacy Program serves to formalize the general advocacy activities of the association, while the Labor Employment Relations Commission serves as the collective bargaining component of the association.
