The Florida Nurses Association is proud to open the call for nominations for our 2025 peer-recognition awards. These annual honors celebrate nurses across diverse specialties and roles who are shaping the future of health care in Florida. Selected awardees will be formally recognized during the FNA Membership Assembly this fall.

2025 Award Categories

• Excellence in Direct Patient Care Icon Award

• Advanced Practice Nursing Icon Award

• Nursing Administration Icon Award

• Undine Sams Award – for labor relations and workplace advocacy

• Communications Media Award

• Mary Cash Award – for contributions to cultural diversity

• Heather Scaglione Award – for support of nursing students and FNSA

• Special Recognition Award

• Promoting Environment for Excellence in Nursing Practice Icon Award – for departments or employers

• Nurse Educator Icon Award

• Nursing Research Icon Award

• Barbara Lumpkin Award – for political and legislative advocacy

• Community Action Icon Award

• Education and Advocacy Icon Award – for nursing education programs

• Nursing Innovation and Creativity Icon Award in the following areas:

  • Patient Care Delivery

  • Hands-On Care

  • Education

  • Leadership and Management

  • Public Health

  • Research

  • Other innovative contributions

• Florida Nurses Association Hall of Fame

Awards Reception and Dinner

Award recipients will be honored during the FNA Membership Assembly at a special reception and dinner. This event brings together nursing professionals from across Florida to celebrate the individuals and teams who exemplify excellence, leadership, and dedication to the nursing profession.

The FNA Awards Program is more than a recognition—it is a testament to the power of nurses and the impact they make every day. We invite all members to take this opportunity to honor a colleague who is making a difference.
